Testimonials
Nathali Rolhion, PHD in Microbiology
I joined the Chelsea Karate Club 4 years ago, with a brown belt in Shitoryu and a break of few years. My first months of Shotokan training were hard but Sensei was extremely patient and helpful with me. I mainly wanted to practise to help to release stress, I never aimed for competition or for black belt, but Sensei encouraged me and really helped me. Without his tips, his support and his time, I would never have been able to reach the standard for a black belt in Shotokan. Sensei motivation and dedication to karate and to his students are incredible, always pushy, always happy explain.... A lot of students are participating to national and international competitions, so the standard of the club is superb and this is pushing everyone for the best... The club is international with a lot of friendly karatemates, there is a amazing atmosphere during training and outside! Nathalie, french, researcher.
Rachel Earley, Student
My name is Rachel Earley I'm 20 years of age and I'm originally from Cork Ireland. I moved to London in september 2012 to attend Brunel University to study sport science. I started karate when I was 6 and I am now a member of the Irish Karate National team, because of this I had a keen interest in finding a good karate club in London to keep up my training. I was introduced to the Chelsea Karate Club by a friend and I haven't looked back since. It has provided me with great quality training, new friendships and a very dedicated coach Sensei Farzad Youshanlou.
Sarah Maclean, Professional Artist
Nine years ago I knew absolutely nothing about karate and did no sport. From the very beginning my sons and I were welcomed into the Chelsea Karate Club and now, thanks to Sensei Farzad's knowledge, dedication and discipline, we are black belts and committed karateka. The amount of trouble he takes with everyone is extraordinary and his limitless supply of enthusiasm, good humour and passion for his sport is what makes him a brilliant teacher.
Madalina Ster, WKF’s world gold medallist
I joined Chelsea Karate Club as a Romanian black belt in 2011. From the very beginning I was made to feel welcome at the Chelsea Karate Club. Sensei Farzad Youshanlou's immense knowledge, dedication, enthusiasm and discipline have helped me to add more trophies and medals to my collection. With his help I have come closer to my dream of a career in karate.
Chelsea Karate Club has provided me with the opportunity to meet karateka from all over the world and share our experiences. The training is top quality due to Sensei Farzad's knowledge and high level of skill; moreover other club members never hesitate to offer their help and advice.
Christian Jaquest, Business Director
I first started Karate at University and soon became more committed to my training than my studying. However after graduating, coming back to London and focussing on my first full time job, I made the mistake of not finding a good Karate club and staying on the path. I quickly slipped into the work hard, play hard world of the advertising industry and it was seven years until I 'came up for air'. Realising that I had misplaced something I enjoyed and found hugely rewarding, I summoned up the will to begin again. A good, solid Karate club with an absolutely dedicated Sensei is really difficult to find but luckily I discovered Sensei Farzad's club and took my first tentative step back in to the dojo with Chelsea Karate Club.
I was rusty at first, not very fit and I had to push myself into the next session for the first few times. But with expert coaching, feedback tailored to my personal Karate needs and a friendly environment to train in, it wasn't long before it took on a whole momentum of its own. I cannot recommend CKC enough to take you from whatever level you are at, whether you're a total beginner or at competition level, you will significantly improve your technique, fitness and spirit. So join us.
